White is neutral and clean on dark backgrounds, but bright walls, sky, flash effects, and pale utility can remove its contrast quickly. This page filters current custom RGB records where all three channels are high.

When white is a good fit

  • You want a neutral center and your display preserves white detail.
  • You are willing to add a minimal outline for background consistency.
  • Green or cyan pulls too much attention in darker scenes.

Outline or thickness

An outline creates a boundary against bright surfaces and is often more targeted than making the entire crosshair thicker. Too much outline turns a small crosshair into a heavy black-and-white block, so keep size and gap fixed and add the minimum amount first.

Test pale walls, Nuke sky, flash recovery, smoke edges, muzzle flash, and a distant head line. If white needs both heavy thickness and outline to survive, green or cyan is usually the simpler choice.

FAQ

Is white hard to see in CS2?

It can be on bright surfaces. Use outline, alpha, or thickness adjustments if the center fades.

Why choose white over green?

White is visually neutral and clean. Green usually wins when you need stronger color contrast.
